Day 6: So Spacey and really tired

Still not great on the water and Livertone pill front. Can't seem to remember. Also, very spacey still. Worked a long hard day but it was great. I miss working this successfully. Before The Great Recession I often worked 8-9 hours back to back with no break. Now it's an oddity to work more than 4 or 6 hours with a bunch of gaps. I don't mind the down time to rest and do other stuff, but I miss the hectic pace and what that meant for my business success.

TOM did arrive on Thursday evening. I think I forgot to say.

I am not going to the bathroom every day and that's worrying me. I am usually pretty regular. When I do go it's fine. But yesterday I didn't really go #2. I don't know how with all this produce!

Not very exciting today meal wise. Usual juice for BK. Snuck in a salad for lunch with raw walnuts, carrots, cucumber, and watercress on romaine. Dinner was stir fry again with chicken. Very tasty!

Day 5: Spacey...

I have to say that I'm eating more fruit then I've eaten in 5 years. As a low carber I just don't eat this much fruit - ever. BUT I love it. I love the fruit. I thought I'd miss dairy with no milk or cheese, but it's been okay with rice milk as a treat alternative. Cheese - well I've been okay. And I've had next to no cravings. I'm eating a ton of fruit though and I'm a bit worried it's too much. An average day for me is:
2 nectarines
1 apple
1/2 orange
1 something else like plum or peach or 5 strawberries

I'm also eating a lot of veggies, but I always eat a lot of those. Every day consists of:
1-2 large romaine salad(s)
kale
squash or zucchini or cucumber
broccoli
beet
beet leaf
carrots

I'm also eating one meal with a grain which also doesn't happen very often unless I'm cheating. Brown rice. Soba noodles. Whole wheat bread. I'm trying to keep each of these items to 1x a day, but I'm probably having 2 servings of it at a meal and it's usually dinner.

I don't think I'm getting enough water. And I can't seem to remember to take my Livertone! I suck! I'm also really spacey. I think the lack of protein is getting to me. I've increased the number of nuts I have, but I'm trying to keep my eggs and chicken down. Next week I'm going to make fish. I have some frozen scallops, white fish, and shrimp in the freezer with my name on it. :) Nils won't eat fish so I haven't been making it. But next week I am trying some fish recipes.

BK: juiced the usual stuff but with a base of green tea. Yum! Beet leaf, carrot, kale, celery, almonds, watermelon, strawberry, stevia, honey

lunch: I went to Hows to get apples and bought a small thing of brown rice sushi rolls. Mmm. God I LOVE sushi! Brown rice, nori, sesame seeds, avocado, cucumber, watercress, and steamed shrimp. It was heaven.

Dinner: Big salad, soba noodles and chicken. The chicken was marinated in Italian dressing overnight. Always a great marinade!

Day 4: TOM or cleanse weight gain?

So I got on the scale today and 2lbs I've gained! Now if I get my period today - mystery solved. If not. Damn it's gotta be the carbs. *sigh* I am not going to freak out yet. My body isn't used to the amount of carbs I am giving it and may need some time to adjust. I usually have about 120 carbs a day. I'm having A LOT more on this WOL. But I am less swollen then I've been in a while so that's a plus.

Not enough water yesterday either. Need to do that. BUT I'm happy to say I remembered to drink my two glasses of water and lemon juice. Haven't had BK. Not hungry yet. Cabot says not to eat until hungry. I did use the restroom 3 times this morning. TOM is going to start today or my liver is really starting to clean itself out.

BK: Smoothie w/ the usual stuff, carrots, kale, beet greens, almonds, orange, pineapple, strawberries.

Lunch: Salad w/ candied pecans (yum!) balsamic dressing, cucumber, carrot

Dinner: Yummy stir fry again but with chicken. I didn't even finish all of my serving because I got full.

Dessert: Yep I needed it. Apple w/ walnuts, covered in honey.
1 cup of rice milk. Stuff is addictive.

Day 3: Constant Craving!

So it's day three and I've been hungry and craving sweets today. Not like sugar sweets but I want honey, and fruit, and dates. Forgot to drink my 2 glasses of water upon rising, but will do it tomorrow for sure!

I am trying to keep this cleanse a bit more carb friendly since I know too much fruit sugars don't agree with my metabolism, but at the same time I want to make sure I am eating enough of the foods I need to eat to help my liver along. So if I crave it for more than 20min I go eat it. Today was walnuts with every meal and some sweet stuff as well. I am also about a day or so away from TOM so that may be effecting me as well.

BK: Steel cut oats with walnuts, rice milk, brown sugar syrup, and a peach

Snack: Fruit and carrot juice.

Lunch: HUGE salad (organic delivery box arrived today!) Romaine w/ half an apple and candied walnuts. My honey mustard dressing on top.

Snack: Nectarine and glass of stevia sweetened rice milk

Dinner: Stir fried rice. Probably too much of it too but I was HUNGRY.
Recipe:
Make brown Jasmine Rice and set aside.
Place 2 tbs chicken stock in skillet or wok. Add veggies you want to eat and grill until soft. Set aside. Be sure to use garlic and onion for flavor! Add a little salt.
Place oil in pan and add cooked rice. Pour raw scrambled egg over the top and stir around. When egg is almost cooked throughout add veggies back in. Stir Fry the thing with soy sauce and/or toasted sesame sauce.

This was a real winner!

Day 2: Working out and so tired!

Started my day with a training session. It was a moderate workout but I was exhausted. It's hard to say if this had to do with me not exercising regularly for the last two week, the smoke from the fires messing up my lungs, or the cleanse. I lifted well so I'm apt to think not the cleanse.

Started taking my pills today. Started with 2 of the Livertone 1 AM 1 PM with meals. Also had my Banaba Leaf and the Insitol 2x as well.

I was really good about drinking 2 large glasses of water with lemon "upon rising" but foresee this as a potential problem in future. I'm often rushed in the morning!

BK
Same juice as yesterday.

Lunch: Chicken thigh leftovers from the night before. I know I'm only supposed to eat "fresh" and try not to re-heat food, but that's REALLY hard!

Snack: small piece of chocolate. 1 Apple.

Dinner: Soba Noodles and stir fry.
Recipe:
Small amount of chicken stock put into a skillet.
Throw in handful of:
broccoli
baby corn
water chestnuts
bamboo shoots
Add 1 tsp Sesame seed oil
Pinch of Salt, Garlic powder, onion powder
Cubed Tofu (optional)

Day 1: This is going to be easy. Right?

So I started today without shopping first. Maybe a bad idea, but I ate the rest of the salad from the fridge and I had eggs and chicken on hand. Lots of fruit too. I have a Vitamix Machine so juicing is going to be a HUGE part of what I do. I am also taking the Livatone pills, Banaba leaf, Vitalzyme, and Inositol. None off which I took today!

BK: Juiced carrots, strawberry, watermelon, raspberry, kale, beet, cucumber, apple cider vinegar, orange, almonds, flax.

Lunch: Worked through it. Was VERY hungry!

Dinner: Chicken Thighs (all I had in fridge) and the rest of the lettuce.
Chicken Recipe:
Take off chicken skin
Rub chicken with garlic, onion powder, paprika, oregano
Bake 450 for 40min on a rack so fat drips off.
Cut up and put on salad.

Liver Cleanse

I've been living a LC lifestyle for 8 years now. I like it well enough. Sure I stray occasionally. Sure I miss fruit and bread. But I eat them occasionally too and make alternative foods. I workout. I consider myself pretty healthy. BUT I had a physical this year that came back with a bad liver panel. So I had it done again. Still bad. Had an ultrasound. Doctor is concerned and wants me on meds. I, being the anti-med gal that I am decide to research the hell out of "Non Alcoholic Liver Disease" which is what I have the first, tiny, startings of. I come across Dr. Cabot's Liver Cleanse Diet. I check the book out of the library. I buy my own copy and decide to follow the 8 week plan. So this is my journey.
